A real life example of manifesting friends

Today felt like the universe said, “so you wanna see what manifestation is?” Whipped out a powerpoint presentation and said “I’ll show you!”

Broken down, it’s a really great example of how manifesting works.

So today, I’m going to share how one of my manifestations is in the process of unfolding, so you might get some insights for your own desires too.

The weather was completely miserable — pouring down and blowing all over the place and cold — and I was wondering if I should go out or not.

But I didn’t want to be sitting at home all evening so I dug out my rain jacket and out I went.

And I randomly thought of going to a different tea house than my usual café. The only free place there was right next to two really nice-seeming girls deep in a discussion.

I asked if they wouldn’t mind I sit there quietly, not wanting to intrude on their privacy.

But they seemed to have the opposite idea — “Of course! Actually, feel free to join our conversation.”

We ended up chatting for over two hours about everything from anime and books to religion and soulmates.

“We should do this again!” One of them said when I thanked them for letting me crash their girls night out.

Did I know I could go out and sit down for tea with two lovely strangers? I certainly didn’t. But apparently, I can.

This was so funny to me because as I mentioned previously, one of my desires is to have my favorite places be a kind of “lounge”. To be able to go to my favorite café, or teahouse, and find people there who I know and can hang out with.

And it seems like the universe is starting to give me hints of just that.

In fact, this was the second time this happened today.

This morning, I was waiting outside before my massage therapy appointment, scrolling Instagram, when suddenly a furry dog head appeared 2 inches from my face and a familiar voice said “Oh hey!”

It was a guy who is also a regular at my favorite café. I talked to him about a month earlier when one of his dogs — this same one — quite literally *demanded* that I spend an hour scratching him.

Now, I’m not saying any of these specific people will definitely now become a close friend (as great as that would be!). You can’t force anything to happen, and clinging to something just pushes manifestations away.

But my desire is clearly coming closer and closer.

How exactly did these manifestations work?

  • I had a clear desire in mind: I want my favorite places in my city to be like “lounges”, where I can go and without having made prior plans, run into people I know and can hang out with.
  • I was listening to my intuition: “Go out tonight” and “Try this tea house.”
  • I took ACTION on this intuition.
  • I noticed and took up opportunities as they come up: When the girls invited me to join their conversation, I did. Because I knew connecting with new people was something I wanted.
  • I didn’t try to force things to go any particular way: Even when we started talking, I didn’t get in the mindset of “and now I have to make them into my friends and find a way to get their contact.” I knew even if I never saw them again, this would be a great way to spend an evening and a lovely memory.

In this instance, you could call manifestation a “coincidence”. In my opinion, the only difference between manifestation and traditional “going after your goals” is the element of intuition.

It’s when its not just you taking action, but also the universe speaking to you, giving you guidance for paths leading to your desire you weren’t aware of before.

And this doesn’t happen only with you — but with everyone else involved. If everyone listens to their intuition and acts on it, who knows the wondrous things that could happen?

I’d love to hear from you too — what kind of things are you in the process of manifesting in your life? Does it look similar to this process?
