You’ll find many trends in the world of manifestation.
And that’s what makes manifestation so interesting — the incredible variety of principles and methods there are.
I love to consider any of these topics, but my analytical mind can’t help but look for some kind of “rationality”. (For lack of a better word).
And I know there are things we can’t yet explain… but some trending concepts sound like they’re just fluff, or distractions, or perhaps marketing gimmicks.
On the other hand, these 5 principles are highly underrated — and work in massive ways. Let’s dive into what they are.
1. Doing mindset work — for a limited time
Let’s face it, the mindset part of manifestation can be deliriously fun.
You start dreaming up big dreams, uncovering limiting beliefs, creating powerful affirmations… You feel the excitement, and with your big vision in front of you it seems like you’re really getting somewhere!
And truth be told, you are… but only if you put your pen down and turn some of that mindset into ACTION.

This unfortunately isn’t explained by many books and tools on manifestation, so many people have the impression it’s all about Jedi-attracting something into your life merely through your mind.
But if you want something in real life, you’ll have to take action in real life.
That’s how the law of attraction works. Dreaming of it in your mind attracts it to you… in your mind. You will only see it manifest in the realm where you put in energy. And the 3D realm deals with physical energy and action.
So have fun with mindset exercises – and then DO the work!
2. Practicing forgiveness
Imagine wanting a tree to grow, so you nurture it with water, nutrients, and love… and a daily dose of poison.
That’s basically what you’re doing to yourself and your dreams when you hold onto resentment.
It’s energy (toxic energy!) that could instead be used to go after your dreams with all you’ve got.
And I’m not just talking about those big, hairy grudges that revenge dramas are based on.
Just think about how much time you waste on ruminating over the caustic comment your colleague said, or the rude driver who cut you off.
That’s time and energy you’re just throwing away. Now imagine what you could do with it, if you apply it to your desires?
If that’s not compelling enough, remember holding onto anger is also dampening your emotional wellbeing and damaging your physical health.
You can’t change the past anymore, but you can decide it won’t control your present and future. YOU can choose how you want to live today — resentful and stuck, or forgiving, free, and as the best self you’ve ever imagined.

3. Dreaming small for the day and big for the year
We really overestimate what we can get done in a day, and underestimate what we can do in a year.
So that mile-long to-do list of yours? Replace it with a big, bold vision for where you want to be a year from now.
And choose one small step to take every day to get there.
You may have the urge to define bigger leaps so that you make more progress.
But experience shows time and time again that consistency is much more important than the size of individual steps.
Choose steps that you can commit to, even on your bad days.
4. Taking action as if you don’t expect anything to “just manifest”
“Manifestation” can sound like it’s basically sitting somewhere and doing some Jedi mind-tricks and then a million dollars, your soulmate, and a unicorn will burst through the door into your living room. (I exaggerate of course, but you get the point.)
Many tools fail to explain that energy, vibrations, and mindset is important, yes… but only as far as they guide you to take the right aligned ACTION!
As I already mentioned, your goals only exist where you invest energy in them. If you only do mindset work, your goals will only take shape in your mind. To bring them into the real world, you have to DO something in the real world.
So pretend for a moment manifestation doesn’t exist, and that you can expect no help from the universe. What would you do in order to get your goals to come true?

5. Enjoying life (even without your manifestations)
A big concept in manifestation is “surrendering” — letting go of “how” something will happen, and even of wanting it to happen.
To me, surrendering means knowing that even if my manifetation never happens, I’m still okay. I can still live a happy, abundant life.
In fact, I’ve lived so long without my manifestation already — so surrendering also means validating the value and worthiness of my life until now.
To do this, I focus on feeling joy and happiness every day in some form.
Maybe it’s enjoying a beautiful view. Savoring a cup of coffee. The feeling of my favorite leggins. Going out for a movie with friends.
Whatever it is, create meaningful memories of a life you’ll be proud to remember — whether or not your dream comes true.
I’d love to hear from you too — what’s your favorite principle of manifestation?
